Paul seized the opportunity this month to speak to the talented students at Oakwood Park Grammar School’s careers evening about the dynamic world of graphic design.
It was inspiring to see so many young minds eager to learn about a career that not only creates stunning visuals but also communicates and shapes the world around us. It’s an industry that we are grateful to be a part of!
Paul shared his journey and how graphic design is more than just creating beautiful images – it’s about conveying messages, building brands, and making an impact. It’s a field where creativity meets technology, passion and strategy, and the possibilities are endless!

The Mivvy studio also welcomed a work-experience student to work alongside the team. Even as a small business, we understand the importance of taking some time out of the business to invest in the younger generation and help inspire the minds of potential new talent in the industry.
Was it time-consuming guiding them through the design project we set for them? Yeah, sure it was, but what is the point in a placement if they don’t actually do the day job?
The student learned about the step-by-step process to create a logo design for an existing health and beauty business and a brand guide to share with the school. She left the studio with some priceless new skills under her belt and a thirst to learn more about graphic design. Plus, there were a few laughs along the way (mainly laughing at Paul, not with him), and for us, that’s a job well done!
If you can offer someone a placement in your business, please do consider it, as there are benefits for both parties. Supporting young talent not only helps them explore their career options with confidence but also enriches our creative environment with fresh perspectives and knowledge.
